Accident or illness on board
Consequences, treatment and work capacity — an independent medical review.
For seafarers, law firms and insurers. Scope, language and cost agreed before commissioning.
ASSESSMENT SCOPE
Accident or illness on board
We review records from the voyage and later treatment: accident reports, treatment in foreign ports, repatriation, treatment and rehabilitation in Poland. We assess consequences, causation and work capacity within the agreed questions. Who is liable for benefits (e.g. ZUS, the shipowner, a P&I insurer) depends on the flag and contract and is assessed by your lawyer or the competent body.
Questions for the physician
- What consequences of the incident are documented?
- Can the records support an assessment of the link between injury and incident?
- What work limitations and further treatment needs can be described?
Records for subsequent review
- Incident report and records of care on board.
- Records from the port, repatriation, subsequent treatment and rehabilitation.
INEM Cloud
Do not send records by email or through the form. After agreeing the scope, we provide the separate protected INEM Cloud channel. Your initial enquiry should contain only the purpose of the report, without health details.
We do not issue seafarer medical certificates or statutory decisions, do not examine patients in Poland and do not assess legal claims. We do not promise any outcome. An enquiry does not suspend appeal or claim deadlines.
Seafarer permanent impairment — CBA
Return to work and lasting injury consequences are different questions. Assessment with reference to your collective agreement.
