INEM · ASSISTANCE AND TPA
Medical opinions for assistance and TPA
Independent second medical opinions, review of medical necessity and treatment costs, and analysis of records from abroad. We coordinate the medical assessment of a case — we do not provide emergency dispatch or medical transport.
HOW A REPORT IS PREPARED
From a question
to a reasoned report.
Keep scrolling — we show how an independent medical report is prepared.
Scope of the assignment
First we define the questions, the purpose of the report and the specialty required. The enquiry form contains no medical records.
Scope and fee are confirmed before commissioning.- 01
Assignment
We agree the questions, the purpose and the specialty.
- 02
Completeness of records
We check whether the records can answer the questions and identify gaps.
- 03
Specialist analysis
A physician of the appropriate specialty assesses the case material.
- 04
Quality check
We verify completeness, reasoning and consistency with the agreed scope.
- 05
Finished report
A signed report with reasoning and stated limitations.
A second opinion for a patient is not the same as a claim review.
A second medical opinion answers the questions of a patient or their family about a diagnosis and proposed treatment. A claim review assesses medical necessity and the justification of costs for an assistance company or TPA. We provide both as independent services, agreed separately.
Second medical opinion
An independent assessment of existing findings and medical questions — including within subcontractor networks of assistance companies.
Medical necessity and costs
Review of indications, services performed and treatment costs. Conclusions may confirm the justification or identify questions requiring clarification.
Records from abroad
Analysis of records in another language and from another healthcare system. Report language and translation scope are agreed before commissioning.
Case coordination
One case manager, an agreed set of questions and a uniform report structure for recurring assignment categories.
Example cases: question, scope, result

Frequently asked questions
Do you arrange medical transport or evacuation?
No. Our role is the independent medical assessment of records — we do not provide emergency dispatch, transport or evacuation services.
How does a second opinion differ from a claim review?
A second opinion concerns the patient's diagnosis and treatment; a claim review assesses medical necessity and costs for an institutional client.
The report provides medical support for the process. The decision on benefits or insurance terms rests with the insurer.
